I am Mercedes Grace Fletcher I go by Mercie for short. i am currently going to the Art Institute of Las Vegas receiving my bachelors degree in the Fashion and Retail Management program. I participate in many different types of events like the Aveda Walks for Water fashion show held every year in august. I've also participated in the first Las Vegas Container Park fashion show. Fashion has been my go to outlet since i was five. it all began when i started ripping up my clothes and throwing different pieces together to make something new. My goals in life are for me to graduate from school and move to a proper place to raise a family with my fiance. id like to then open up a small boutique to design and make custom clothing developed by myself and my clientele. id love to do a whole range of things from dresses to underwear. vintage to modern. id love to work with recycled materials or all natural fibers like hemp. For free time i love to help with shows whether they be for theatre dance fashion etc.
When it comes to fashion i believe that everyone should feel comfortable no matter their size. i know being a bigger girl can mean allot more difficulty finding anything that's cute and affordable. that's where i come in. i can sit them down and ask them what it is there looking for like style, cut, texture, color, etc and compile it on paper and do a quick brief sketch or sketches and from there well pick the sketch that we see fit and develop it more in detail before transferring it to a pattern and creating the piece.
Why go through all this work for a garment? Why not i say. if the customer is satisfied then so am i!!!!
